What’s The Best Thing To Come Out Of 2020?

Perfecting your baking skills, the money saved on petrol, time for that morning walk or getting to know your Australian Post delivery person on a first name basis. There were some gems to come out of the rubble of this year.

So, what was the best thing to come out of 2020 for us?

Rod Prosser | Chief Sales Officer

Being able to spend more time with my family has been the highlight of 2020 for me.

But on a professional note, the achievements of the 10 ViacomCBS Sales team this year have been extra special. I’ve watched the team come together to deliver results for our clients in more creative ways than ever, with outstanding resilience. Bring on 2021!

Lisa Squillace | National Sales Director

The best thing to come out of 2020 was connecting with my team and clients around the country through video calls. Even though physical distance kept us apart, the team have grown so much closer.

I am so thrilled at what we have achieved together and how well we hit our milestones, week after week.

Di Ho | Sydney Sales Director

The best thing to come out of 2020 was to see how our amazing team adapted to the challenges we faced this year. We continued to support each other, win awards, deliver record revenue shares and bond as a national team. I couldn’t be prouder and can’t wait to be reunited as a team in 2021!

Ian Smith | Sales Director – Independent Agencies & Direct Sales

The best thing about 2020 is how the team across the country has managed to navigate unprecedented challenges, delivery impeccable service, grow relationships and exceed budget. The strength and resilience of this team is phenomenal.

Sophie Hicks Lloyd | Director of Digital Sales

The best thing to come out of 2020 was getting to know our teams (and their pets) better. We met almost daily over teams and we shared in each other’s home lives and daily routines. We had kids, dogs, cats, husbands, boyfriends and girlfriends all wandering in and out of shot. We visited farms, Airbnbs and watched team members move from one house to another. Never before have Brissie, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide felt so connected.

John O’Brien | Head of Agency Sales – Melbourne

The best thing to come out of 2020 is a truly national sales team that has worked together as one, given the challenges we’ve all faced. As a collective, we’ve managed to deliver an amazing revenue result and that has set us up for a big 2021.

Adam Quick | Head of Independent Agencies and Direct Sales – Melbourne

2020 has reinforced the need to embrace change, to try something new. While the year had many challenges, it also presented us with the opportunity to get out of our comfort zones, and to try new ways of working and living. The year reminded me to trust others, trust that we can and will succeed, trust my instincts and relationships and remain optimistic.

Angela Neville | General Manager & Sales Director – Brisbane

The best thing about 2020 is we have seen the best in everyone. We’ve achieved a lot in adverse conditions and really rallied as a team. Our culture, our people and our business this year is a true reflection of the great team we are at 10. Well done everyone, thank you and Merry Christmas!

Cameron Mudge | Sales Director – Adelaide

Some of the best things to come out of 2020 have been the way the teams in each state pulled together, although we were physically apart.

The closeness of the national Sales Executive group has been brilliant to be part of. Every day, we pulled together under enormously trying circumstances to deliver a strong revenue result for the business – growing revenue share throughout the year.

Witnessing the inspiring resilience of our teams, the rise in TV viewing and now the bounce back of the economy, further highlights the overall spirit of Australian’s – we won’t let ourselves be defeated, even in the face of bushfires and global pandemics.

Paul Townsend | General Manager & Sales Director – Perth

The best things to come out of 2020 have been that everyone is watching loads of TV and 10 Play, the market is bouncing back and TV is top of the list and flexi working has brought a whole new vibrancy and energy to our sales culture!

Tamar Hovagimian | Partnership Director – Effect

For me the silver lining was how much more creative, proactive and resourceful we all became as a team.

Looking back, it is incredible how much we have all achieved in such a difficult year.

Nisar Malik | Sales Director – Effect

The best thing for me this year was witnessing and being part of an agile, nimble and forward-thinking business that pivoted and led the way in a very tough global environment.

We adjusted our accessibility and relationships to make way for clients and B2B to still deal and deliver what they required on our platforms and content. From CGI on The Masked Singer to outside of the box thinking for the Melbourne Cup Carnival, 10 ViacomCBS delivered an absolute A1 experience for clients and audiences by embracing what the pandemic bought us rather than submitting to it.

This also bought so many departments closer internally and only strengthened an already market leading broadcast network that we are all very proud to call home.

Michael Stanford | Head of 10 Imagine, National Creative Director

The best thing about 2020 was watching how we all adapted in ways we never imagined. We talked more, supported one another more, thought around challenges more and even improved our video call camera angles, some better than others.
